I might have mentioned a few times here, but it's very humid in Tokyo especially in Summer. This humidity is killing people, it makes the temperature higher and nearly every day I hear that people died of heat stroke on the news.
It makes sense that people avoid wearing a sweet-scented perfume here. I was surprised that preference of perfume including body spray is totally different in London from Tokyo last time I visited there. I found some perfume really good over there, but when I came back I realized that I won't be able to wear the same perfume as I would in London here.
Here is my summer-time favorite, Antonia's Flowers.
This scent is inspired by a bouquet with a top note of freesia interspersed with jasmine, magnolia and lily. I know it sounds quite sweet-scented, but believe me it's more like fresh. A friend of mine once suddenly said "Hey, do you smell flowers? Is there a flower shop around here?" when I was reapplying it. That's how real the scent is. I heard they used essential oils more than other normal perfume, that is why you need to finish the bottle within 1 year or something otherwise the scent would change. I'm not sure if that's true, it's been more than a year but it still smells good.
Here is my new favorite, DAISY Eau So Fresh by Marc Jacobs. According to the website, the top layer is natural raspberry, grapefruit and pear, then the mid base is violets, wild Rose and apple blossom, the dry base is musk, cedarwood and plum.
This one was a present from my lovely family friend, that makes this perfume more special. It smells fresh and feminine. I think I would wear this more in winter, but even now I wear this to work every day :) It makes me feel like I'm a powerful woman somehow!
And this one, BVLGARI Au The Rouge. This has been my favorite for more than 6 years now. It's got the notes of bergamot, orange, pink pepper, fig pulp, roiboos red tea, yunnan red tea, walnut and musk. But I can't tell that it's the tea-based scent from the smell of it, but I just love love love the scent.
Another reason why I love this perfume so much is because it's very light. One spray isn't enough at all. I spray 5 times directly to my wrists, neck and hair. The scent changes dramatically (in my opinion) after 10-20 minutes, from the fresh citrus note to the calm musky note. It's the best perfume in the world, I cannot live without it. It actually was my husband's favorite originally, but now I'm so obsessed with it. It's unisex so you can share it with your boyfriend/husband!
