The best smelling washing detergent and fabric softener

MIEUX LUXGEOUS Washing Detergent 1680yen
I've been a heavy user of Downy for more than 10 years. I can't stand it when my clothes or bedding don't smell amazing, and I thought that was because I was kind of a scent-fetish. Apparently not. In Japan, fragrant washing detergent and fabric softener have been popular for years. This summer, the government sounded a warning not to use too much of those fragrant washing liquid because there were people who got sick because of the strongly scented clothes in the trains. I know that sounds ridiculous but it's pretty easy to imagine getting sick when you are standing really close to other people in the packed train in Tokyo, and those people are wearing overpoweringly scented clothes.
Because it's becoming like a trend here, there are many nice fragrant washing detergents recently. But my favourite is this one; MIEUX LUXGEOUS Washing Detergent. It doesn't smell overpowering at all but the scent lingers for days. Since it's very pricey for a washing detergent, I only use it to wash my clothes that I wear to work. When I wash my clothes with this, I instantly smell amazing. I don't even need to wear perfume because my clothes smell amazing. I cannot justify myself to spend 1680yen on washing liquid, but I will be very sad when I've used it up for sure. If you ever have a chance to get your hands on this one, you should try it. It smells divine.
LAVONS Luxury Relax 698yen
Now, this is more affordable choice. This one is a fabric softener that you use along with normal washing detergent. It smells like clean fabrics, a little bit like Downy. It lingers even longer than the first one I talked about, so I love using it when I wash my bedding. It makes me feel so happy when my bedding smell clean and fresh, it creates this warming atmosphere.
But the only downside of this is that it doesn't make fabrics soft. My towels feel harder, and my fluffy pillow case isn't fluffy anymore after being washed with this softener. I only use this to apply this amazing scent to my clothes and bedding, not to soften them obviously. If you are looking for fabric softener which makes your fabric soft, which it's supposed to do, then this might not be for you. But believe me, it smells so good!
Samourai Woman Fabric Softener
If you haven't smelt Samourai Woman, you probably should. I used to wear Samourai Woman perfume which had sparkling glitters in it when I was like 15. I stopped wearing it when I run out of it, and I totally forgot about it. Until I got their shampoo and conditioner to review. My husband loved the scent unexpectedly, and he brought the shampoo and conditioner to England when he went back there to see his family as a souvenir, and his family fell in love with it. Now I know this scent never gets too old fashioned.
The top note is grapefruit, green tea and bergamot which is the blend of fresh notes. The middle note is jasmine, ylang ylang, peach and rose, then the base note is sandalwood and musk. It doesn't smell overpowering but definitely fresh and...young, if that makes sense. All of their products are amazing but this fabric softener is perfect for someone like me who wants to wear perfume from a different brand yet want fabrics and clothes to smell amazing. As the scent is subtle, it doesn't crush. Plus the packaging looks pretty which is a bonus.
Until recently I thought Japanese washing detergent is boring. I really liked the British ones that my sister-in-law was using, and Japanese ones are nothing compared to them. But now I think Japanese ones are catching up a little bit...I'm so glad to find nice ones here in Japan :)
Oh my dress!
Thursday, 15 August 2013
I'm 158cm tall which is average here in Japan. I wish I was taller and my legs were longer, so that I could enjoy more sophisticated fashion. I always thought I was too short to wear a maxi dress. I thought I would end up looking like a little girl trying to look like a grown-up wearing her mum's dress. But the other day I got this dress as a PR sample and I was amazed how comfortable it was!
The summer in Japan is really hot and humid. It was literally 38 degrees in Tokyo last week and I couldn't go outside until evening because it was too hot. In that weather, it's suicidal to wear skinny jeans because it's freaking hot and disgusting. But it felt much cooler in this dress! It felt so comfortable and cool, I could stay outside forever in the dress.
Also it makes my legs look longer. This particular dress from titivate is lined which is another great point. You cannot see anything through the dress and I don't have to worry about inner wear. Also the shape of the dress is very slim which prevents me looking like I'm pregnant.
I should have known that a maxi dress is comfortable!!! I'm sure I will be wearing it next summer much more than I am this summer. I was kind of avoiding maxi dresses because it's on trend for years in Japan, I didn't want to be one of the girls who's chasing the trend...I know I sound stuck-up though! Is maxi dress popular in your country? Do you often wear it?
Accessories I got from Romwe
Wednesday, 19 June 2013
I got to know about this website called Romwe when Sammi from Beautycrush mentioned it in one of her videos. As I don't buy clothes as often as beauty products, the only shop I knew was ASOS. When I checked out Romwe I came across some good stuff including the accessories I'm going to talk about today!
Snake-shaped Pendant Necklace $9.99
It was originally $13.99 and now it's gone down to $9.99. I'm sure it's because it's not as popular as they expected but I just don't understand why because I think it's gorgeous! I love the colours of the stones, it goes well with my wardrobes.
I like paring this necklace with a simple tee like this one from Zara.
Cut-out Spiked Golden Necklace $19.9
Apparently it's sold out as I couldn't find the page :( I wasn't sure about the price for the quality but actually it's pretty wearable and useful.
It goes well with any round-neck tops.
This pink top (or you can wear it as a dress too) is also from Romwe and these two look really nice together.
I'm still on the hunt for nice accessories, let me know what your favoruites are for this season!
Fashion Haul -Zara, H&M and Skechers
Wednesday, 22 May 2013
Because it's time to change my wardrobe for the new season, I needed to buy some new clothes. I usually don't spend too much money on my clothes (obviously just because I love beauty related stuff more than fashion stuff) and shop at highstreet shops, the items don't last long. Well that's my excuse anyway. So here are what I got the other day!
<FROM H&M>
Sleeveless Peplum Shirt
I really like how it fits my body because it's rare to find a sleeveless shirt which isn't too big for me! I got it in size 32 which I guess is the smallest one.
I'm not crazy about the pattern but still I like it :) And it was only about 1000yen.
A Simple Stripey Top
This one was also about 1000yen and the quality isn't actually too bad. I like how drapey it is around the waist. Actually it's from H&M MAMA line which is their maternity line, but I found it nice to wear as a loose drapey top. It's a very basic top which I can wear by itself or pair it with a blazer for work.
It's in size XS which is the smallest one. It's made with organic cotton and it's super comfortable. And I might be able to wear it when I get pregnant in the future...only if it doesn't get worn off by then.
<FROM ZARA>
A Simple T-Shirt
I got it in grey and black because it fitted me perfectly. It's stretchy and comfortable to wear, and also I love the cut around the neck and sleeves.
I like this grey one better than black actually because the black one looks a bit like worn off although it's new. They had patterned ones in this exact same design and they looked pretty too. This basic T-shirt was only 980yen, and I'm sure I'll wear it a lot this summer.
GEORGETTE CONTRAST SHIRT
I picked it up because I thought it's perfect to wear to work! It's sheer, light and pretty!
I think I will pair this top with a jacket and a simple gold necklace for work. I don't want to look like a girlie girl so I won't pair it with skirt.
Loose Trousers
Please ignore the weird background. My house is tiny and there was no space I could take a photo of these trousers. I wish I had a garden or something where I can take a nice photo like other bloggers! Anyway, these trousers were in the sale section and it was originally 6900yen or something and now was 3400yen. It's very loose and the material is pretty thin but not see-through (dah). I like how different it looks from normal boring trousers I own, although my mum calls it "Hammer Pants".
<SKECHERS>
Because I couldn't afford the wedge trainers by Isabel Marant, I was looking for cheaper ones. I don't usually wear trainers because I prefer heels as I'm not tall (I'm 158cm) but I really wanted a pair of high cut trainers. I bought this pair mainly because I liked the colour. It's taupe which isn't the most common colour for trainers.
I am not keen about this part with spiky studs, it looks a bit tacky and too much. But oh well I cannot see it when I'm wearing it. And it may come in handy when I want to protect myself. haha
Although it has about 7cm insole in it, it's super comfortable to wear. And of course they look very nice paired with basic skinny jeans!
I hope you enjoyed my very first haul post! :)
