Revlon ColorStay Pressed Powder

Revlon ColorStay Pressed Powder  $10.29 icon

I picked it up when I was shopping around on Vitacost.com as usual although I had never heard of this powder before despite the huge rave about Ravlon colorstay liquid foundation. I was just looking for a good powder to finish my makeup with and thought I would give it a try. I chose the colour Light, and there were two other colours ; Light-Medium and Medium.

It's got the mirror inside and a puff underneath. I was so surprised with the quality of the puff because it was the most rubbish puff I had ever seen in my entire life! I wouldn't call it a puff even, it's something in between a cloth and a paper. I tried to work it somehow but believe me, there is no way anyone can use this puff as a puff.

The colour matches my skin tone perfectly as you can see, and the powder is pigmented. it gives a matte finish to my skin which is not particularly needed as I have dry skin but it would be very nice if you've got oily skin I think. It claims to last for 16 hours but as you can guess it doesn't last that long. Obviously. But it sets my liquid foundation underneath and it gives flawless finish.

I like this product overall but there is one downside. When I put liquid foundation fully and apply this powder on top, it looks really heavy. I know I should choose loose powder rather than pressed powder if I want a sheer finish, but still this one is REALLY pigmented and makes my skin look like a bronze statue in brown if that makes sense! I try to swipe this powder with my blush brush (I need a powder brush!) really lightly but still it turns me to a statue. So whenever I use this powder, I use less amount of liquid foundation.

Because I use a tiny bit each time I guess it'll last years and years unless I smash it. I don't think I would repurchase it again but I would love to try their Revlon foundation as I only heard good things about it. Have you ever tried it? If you have, did you like it?

Jason Quick Clean Make-up Remover

Jason Quick Clean Make-up Remover $5.59 icon

Jason is an American beauty brand which uses naturally-derived ingredients mainly to make natural and effective products. They select natural ingredients, test every formula to ensure safety and efficacy and never test on animals. I'm using their Brightening Apricot Scrubble iconand I absolutely love it. This is the best facial scrub I've ever tried. I wrote the full review here if you're interested.

I'd been using cleansing water by Bioderma or Caudalie to remove my eye makeup, but as I was running out of both of them I thought it would be nice to have makeup wipes instead of cleansing water just because it would save money to buy both cleansing water and cotton wool pads. And I found this one at Vitacost.com where I always purchase American beauty products from, and I didn't even hesitate to put it in my shopping basket. I already trusted Jason because I loved the facial scrub so much, so I didn't even have to do research about this product.

It has 75 pads in this pretty jar. The ingredients are all naturally derived and it's suitable for all skin types. Vitacost described this product as "Removing makeup has never been easier. Unlike traditional makeup removers, these pre-moistened pads are made with pure, natural, & organic JASON ingredients: refreshing Cucumber, Soothing, Silkening Aloe Vera, Chamomile and Natural Vitamin E, Radiance-restoring Vitamin C and Vitamin B. This gentle, non-drying formula cleanses and clarifies without rinsing. Safe even for sensitive skin". You can imagine how natural and gentle this product would be on your skin from this description.

I personally love the jar somehow. It makes me excited to open the jar, pick one cotton pad and remove my makeup before bedtime. I was worried that the cotton pads would get dried out after a week or so, but they are still perfectly moist.

DSCN0065

As you can see the cotton pad is not wet, it's moist. I think I should call is "gauze" rather than "cotton pad" because it feels more like gauze. It doesn't break easily when I stretch it and it doesn't fluff either which is a very good thing. Nothing is more irritating to have a fluffy cotton wool pad to remove your makeup off, isn't it? Despite the size and moistness, this one small "gauze" removes my eye makeup completely. It's not the softest thing in the world to use on your eye area but it does its job. I try to be careful not to rub my skin with it as much as I can to avoid any irritations. The formula itself doesn't irritate my skin at all. And as it doesn't have too much liquid on it, it doesn't get into my eye accidentally which is another good thing about this product.

It's fragrance free and oil free, and as long as you are careful about how hard you wipe your skin with it, I would recommend it to people with sensitive skin. I only use it on around my eyes but of course you can use it on your whole face, and don't need to rinse afterwards. I love how easy it is to remove makeup off with this product and I would repurchase it when I run out of the current jar.

Now I'm very interested in the brand and would love to try some other products! Please let me know if you have tried any of their products!

Thorncroft Kombucha Cordial

Thorncroft Kombucha Cordial

Do you like water? I don't. It doesn't have any tastes and it feels really heavy somehow, so I am always dehydrated. I drink tea and coffee, and my favourite drink is fizzy drink. I know that's really bad for my health, and I've been trying to change my habit by drinking cordial instead of juice and fizzy drink.

My all time favourite is ginger cordial from whichever brand because I love ginger and it warmth up my body in this colder season. I usually pour a bit of ginger cordial and hot water into a mug and drink it during work or before bed. It really does work and sometimes I get hot and turn my heating off! I strongly recommend ginger cordial if you have a poor circulation or have a cold.

But I recently I received this cordial as a PR sample and immediately fell in love with it. It's Kombucha cordial which obviously contains Kombucha which contributes to general well-being by strengthening and stabilizing your metabolic and digestive processes.

This cordial has got peach juice and apple juice in it as well as Kombucha, so it tastes really good. I have never had Kombucha by itself so I cannot judge what it tastes like to be honest, but this cordial must taste much better.

If you don't like water and are interested in a healthier choice than fizzy drink or coffee, I recommend cordial for sure. But it must contain sugar which I think is not good. For me drinking something which doesn't contain caffeine or artificial ingredients is good enough!  It's only about 3 pounds in the U.K. and you can get it from a supermarket I believe. It's 2500 - 3000yen in Japan (which is about 17 - 20 pounds) here in Japan which is a total ripoff!!

What is your favoruite healthy drink?
