Japanese Beauty Magazines available on Beaut in Japan!
Sunday, 15 February 2015
Last week, I added some Japanese beauty magazines on Beaut in Japan. I still have more than 5 mags to update, which will appear on the list very soon. Right now we have Voce, which is targeting women in 20's, Maquia which is great if you're in your 20's to 30's, Bea's up which is thinner than any other beauty magazines, and Biteki which is a little more mature (I am loving Biteki recently!).
As Japanese mags are heavy because of the quality of the paper (It's much thicker than the foreign magazines!) and generally they are pretty thick, the postage is a little high. That's something I cannot control, but I hope the price I'm offering is reasonable. If you want to know how much the postage would be, simply add a magazine and put your address in it. It calculates based on your address and the weight of the magazine!
The good news is that there are two handbag size magazines, Maquia Jan issue and Biteki Feb issue! They are half the weight compared to the normal size, but unfortunately they don't come out with the minis every month. So if you're interested in these Japanese beauty magazines but haven't been able to purchase because of the postage, take the opportunity to purchase one for cheaper ;)
I'm still thinking what to introduce to you all next beauty wise, I'm eying on some new launches coming out next month from some drugstore brands! If you have any requests, feel free to let me know!
YSL Forever Youth Liberator Lotion

YSL Forever Youth Liberator Lotion
I had never been interested in the skincare range from YSL.I know everyone's crazy about their lipstick, but I'm not interested in that either just because they don't have the shade that I like (which is good for my purse). But now I've tried this new release from YSL, which just came out in Japan on 23.Jan, I am keen on trying some other products from them.
This new addition to their Forever Youth Liberator range, claims to energise your skin cells. It contains the ingredient 'Glycan Active CP' which finds damaged cells on its own, and tries to repair them. It also prepares the skin for efficacy of a serum or moisturiser that you uses after this.
As it's a thick lotion, you don't need a cotton pad to apply it unless you love cotton pads so much that you just want to use it anytime. As I mentioned before, I am against using cotton pads too much on my skin, as the friction causes irritation and pigmentation around the eyes and nose. When the lotion is runny, I have no choice but to use lotion otherwise I tend to apply like a drop of lotion. But this lotion feels almost like serum, which I can apply with my palms.
I expected it to be too moisrutising and heavy on my skin by the looks of it. But it actually absorbs quickly, and leaves my skin surface silky smooth without being too sticky. I apply a little bit on my palms, then on my face, leave it for 30 seconds or so, and repeat the same process. My skin feels so supple and plumped when it's completely sunk in.
Since I started using this lotion, I feel that the oil production of my skin is balanced, that my skin isn't shiny during the day. As this lotion is great, I feel like I don't need to apply serum on top. You may not need one if you're in 20's and have no specific concern.
The plastic bottle looks pretty with this pink to purple ombre pattern. The scent of the lotion is much more subtle than I expected, which must not be offensive for anyone. It's such a lovely lotion that is definitely luxurious and pricey but is worth it. I was lucky enough to be able to try this out before it came out, and I'm now hooked!
My beauty wishlist -Highstreet and Highend
Monday, 9 February 2015
I'm kind of trying to put myself on a spending ban, because I had not been working as much recently due to my health issue. I only have money to survive my daily life, and spending money on beauty products is an undreamed-of luxury. So today I created my high-street and high-end beauty wishlist just to have fun, and thought to share it with you!
Though my favourite drugstore beauty brand is L'Oreal, I have to admit that Maybelline has been doing an amazing job. Their new Lash Sensational Mascara seems really nice that I'm pretty sure I will love it. In the US, they launched Color Molten Eyeshadow Duo, which I heard many good reviews of. I am also hoping that feelunique will be stocking Color Tatoo Leather, as the taupy shade looks gorgeous.
When it comes to eyeshadows, I am a total sucker for a cream eyeshadow (both in a pot or stick form). Max Factor's Excess Shimmer in Copper and Bronze look gorgeous that I am definitely going to pick them up next time I come to the UK. Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Shine Lacquer is something that I instantly fell in love with when Danniella kindly sent me one. My shade is Charm Offensive, such a gorgeous plummy mauve pink, and I am keen on trying out some other shades as well, I hope they will bring more nude shades in the future!
Now, these are the products I would definitely purchase if I'd won a lottery now. NARSissist Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow Palette is an unbelievably gorgeous palette that I would die for. I also love how Luxury Palette in The Golden Goddess by Charlotte Tilbury looks. Dolce Vita Palette is also gorgeous, but I am not a big fan of the reddish copper shade, and I prefer The Golden Goddess as all the shades look wearable.
Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Sparkle in Smokey Topaz and Sunlit Bronze look absolutely gorgeous as well. Though you can wear it as a gel eyeliner, I would wear it as a cream shadow! I did not even think that I would want Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade 6 months ago, because despite the hype, I was not interested in the brand at all. But it looks much more natural on the brows than I imagined, and now I would like to try this out!
On to Skincare, Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm and ANY products from First Aid Beauty have been on my wishlist for AGES. Though I'm not interested in the mud mask from Glamglow, I would like to try out their moisturising mask but why the heck is this so expensive? It's ridiculous!
I sometimes go to Sephora.com and put everything I want into the basket to satisfy my cravings....which I might do again tonight ;)
