New on Beaut in Japan! Visee Super Slim Eyeliner

Visee Super Slim Eyeliner

When it comes to eyeliners, I think Japanese ones are the best. Liquid or pencil, it doesn't matter. I had been a liquid eyeliner kind of girl for more than 10 years until I discovered Visee Color Impact Gel Liner that I wrote about HERE in December, and now I'm so in love with their latest eyeliner that just came out last month called 'Super Slim Eyeliner'. This is the pencil eyeliner that you can actually create the perfect flick.

It comes in 3 different shades, but I only picked up Black and Brown for myself. For your reference, here is the swatches of all three shades next to each other.
So now let's take a look at the details!

First of all, as the name suggests, it's SUPER thin. You can see how thin it is compared to my finger. And don't forget I have quite thin fingers. The packaging  is all black no matter what the shade is, which is a bit inconvenient because I always have to grab one, and check the label to see which shade is it before use.

It looks like retractable, but actually once you twist it to get the pencil out, you cannot get it back in. You have to be really careful not to twist too much, otherwise you will squash the pencil when you put the lid on.

I know I'm being annoying right now, but look how thin it is!! It means I can draw a super thin line though it's not a liquid eyeliner. I always thought it's pretty hard to draw a thin line with a pencil eyeliner but this one makes is very easy, surprisingly.

BLACK
It glides on super smoothly that you don't even have to try to draw a line. You just lightly touch your skin with the eyeliner, and it allows you to draw a thin, straight line. You don't even need to pull your skin to draw a line, that's how creamy the formula is. Black is a pretty dark black which is perfect for the waterline as well.

You can create the flick as well with this eyeliner, which I never thought would be possible with a pencil eyeliner. You can smudge it with a brush for more natural or smoky look, or you can just leave it as it is. You won't believe how closer this eyeliner allows you to draw a line to the lash line!

BROWN
Sorry my skin looks red in the photo above, it's because I couldn't get the previous swatch off with Bioderma. That's how strong the staying power of these eyeliners is! When I use it on my eyes, I always use a cleansing balm or oil to remove it, but I was being lazy trying to get it off with Bioderma, which made my skin look red because I rubbed the cotton pad so hard!

Anyway, brown is brighter than I expected -which I thought wasn't ideal but it actually looks beautiful on the eyes.

It's natural, but makes a huge difference to the whole look. To be honest I use the brown one much more often than the black one, just because it goes well with my favorite neutral eyeshadows.

Overall, it's such an amazing eyeliner. I do not use my liquid eyeliners anymore recently, because this eyeliner especially in brown, works amazingly. Of course the eyeshadow palette that came out along with the eyeliner, is also brilliant if you haven't checked it out. I wrote an in-depth review on the palette HERE :)

Now Beaut in Japan carries my favourite Japanese mascara!

Do you remember Kiss Lash Wonder Curl Mascara that I blogged about last month? (If not, you can click HERE to read my review!) I decided to carry this amazing mascara on Beaut in Japan, although I didn't film a video nor I'm not planning to, because it's such a good mascara that I cannot live without!

I also love Leanani and Heroine Mascara, but they both are waterproof that sometimes is pain in the butt to remove. My lashes hold curls pretty well, so I do not need waterproof mascara unless I'm going to the beach which happens once a year or less. This mascara doesn't smudge at all, yet super easy to remove with hot water.

I realised that I use this mascara every single day since I got it, over beloved The Rocket from Maybelline, False Lash Effect Mascara from Max Factor, and those two Japanese ones I just mentioned.

So I thought, if I love it so much, why not carry on Beauty in Japan so that you guys can try out as well? If you like separated, sleek looking lashes, you will enjoy this mascara!

New on Beaut in Japan! Visee Nudy Rich Eyes Palette BE-07

Visee Nudy Rich Eyes Palette BE-07

It took me ages to pick up a new product to carry at Beaut in Japan. I was looking for something affordable, yet great quality. When I saw this latest launch from Visee, one of my favourite Japanese drugstore brands, I didn't even hesitate to pick up because it looked absolutely beautiful. I usually don't like Japanese drugstore eyeshadow palettes, just because they tend to be really sheer, that you can't even tell the difference between the shades. But this one really impressed me.

As you can find the detailed info on their website, they have 4 different eyeshadow palette ranges. On 16th Feb, they added this new shade BE-07 on Nudy Rich Eyes Palette range.

There are 5 shades in this range. If you have a shade you would like to purchase, e-mail me through this blog or Beaut in Japan, so that I can pick one up for you.

BE-07 creates a very sophisticated, grown-up eyes in my opinion. I love this kind of taupy brown eyes. I personally don't wear reddish brown eyeshadows much because they tend to make my eyes look a little puffy. If you have hooded eyes, you may want to avoid those too.

It's got a small double ended brush and sponge applicator that you never use. But this particular one doesn't seem too crappy, which I might keep so that I can use it to touch up throughout the day without carrying a brush around.

Now, let's talk about the shades.
1. A very pretty sheer pink, it has the most buttery texture out of the 5 shades. Metallic finish.
2.  If you like a gorgeous glittery look, you will love it. Beautiful glitter particles with a taupe undertone.
3. A chic, modern brown that you can use as an eyeliner or blend out on your crease to create smoky eyes. It has a little bit of small glitter particles as well.
4. Another buttery textured eyeshadow that glides on smoothly and blend well. This taupe is my favourite shade of this palette, such a gorgeous shade you can wear in many different ways! Metallic finish.
5. It's more peachy and glittery than the shade 1, but still has this metallic sheen to it. I use it as a highlighter under the brows, inner corner of the eyes or the centre of the eyelids to give a little bit of definition.

You might think the shade 1, 2 and 5 look similar. I thought so too, but they have different undertones and texture, which makes it interesting to play with.

I apply 1 all over the eyelid, 5 under the eyebrow, 4 on the crease, 3 on the outer corner, and add 2 or 5 on the centre of the eyelid depending on my mood.

These photos are taken when I tested this palette for the first time, and I must say I was super impressed. Usually I test a product, play around and see how it goes, and then try again another day. But with this palette, it just created a beautiful look instantly that I didn't need to wait for a day or two to take photos. They are super blendable, especially the taupe shade (4) is absolutely amazing.

I don't like it when eyeshadow doesn't apply well with a brush and I have to use my finger to apply, but these are pigmented applied both with a finger and a brush.

As usual, I filmed a video for you to see the swatches on action. The palette is available on Beaut in Japan, and feel free to let me know if you would like another shade!

Japanese Beauty Magazines available on Beaut in Japan!

Last week, I added some Japanese beauty magazines on Beaut in Japan. I still have more than 5 mags to update, which will appear on the list very soon. Right now we have Voce, which is targeting women in 20's, Maquia which is great if you're in your 20's to 30's, Bea's up which is thinner than any other beauty magazines, and Biteki which is a little more mature (I am loving Biteki recently!).

As Japanese mags are heavy because of the quality of the paper (It's much thicker than the foreign magazines!) and generally they are pretty thick, the postage is a little high. That's something I cannot control, but I hope the price I'm offering is reasonable. If you want to know how much the postage would be, simply add a magazine and put your address in it. It calculates based on your address and the weight of the magazine!

The good news is that there are two handbag size magazines, Maquia Jan issue and Biteki Feb issue!  They are half the weight compared to the normal size, but unfortunately they don't come out with the minis every month. So if you're interested in these Japanese beauty magazines but haven't been able to purchase because of the postage, take the opportunity to purchase one for cheaper ;)

I'm still thinking what to introduce to you all next beauty wise, I'm eying on some new launches coming out next month from some drugstore brands! If you have any requests, feel free to let me know!

New on Beaut in Japan! Integrate Girl's Kiss Jelly in Cherry&Berry

Integrate is a Japanese drugstore beauty brand belongs to Shiseido. Their products especially the eyeliners and eyeshadow palettes are pretty popular in Japan, but I had never tried anything from the brand. But when I saw online that they came out with the gorgeous lipgloss range called Girl's Kiss Jelly last month, I couldn't resist but to pick one up.

The lip gloss comes in 7 different shades and I have to admit all of them look very pretty and wearable. I picked up this shade called Cherry&Berry, because first of all this is the only limited shade out of seven, secondly it looks so pretty. This kind of deep berry shade is on trend this winter, but I don't have enough courage to wear a lipstick in this shade. So I thought this lip gloss would be perfect for someone like me!

I am not a huge fan of Japanese 'Kawaii' stuff, but I really like this heart shaped lid! It adds a little bit of cuteness and makes me happy whenever I apply the lip gloss.

The angled tube applicator makes it easier to apply, and it doesn't dispense too much at once because the hole is so tiny.

The shade is very unique in my opinion, because it looks quite sheer and reddish like 'cherry' when applied one coat, and when you build it up with 2nd and 3rd coat, it becomes more like a 'berry' shade that has a purple / burgundy undertone to it. One coat gives you a natural shine and pout, or you can build it up to a deeper red.

It has tiny glitter particles that make your lips look gorgeous. Wearing a little sparkle on your lips is definitely suitable for winter. I hate lip gloss that has glitters that stay on my lips until I wipe them off with a tissue even after the lip gloss itself has been worn off. That sandy feeling on the lips is disgusting! With this lip gloss I haven't had such a problem, which is a good point.

You can apply it straight from the tube but I like using my Real Techniques' brush to apply. But because the applicator is small, it's not difficult at all to apply it straight from the tube either.

According to the website, it has a 'sweet and spicy' scent, but the scent is quite subtle that I didn't even notice at first. It indeed smells fruity and sweet, and has kind of a floral scent as well. I don't mind it at all, but it might bother people who hate scented lip products.

I LOVE how it looks on the lips. It instantly erases creases and discolouration on the lips. It makes your lips look like they are coated with raspberry syrup or something.

I like to apply two coats on the lips, and add a little bit in the centre of the lips to give a pout. It's perfect to wear on top of a berry toned lipstick of course, to add shine. The gold glitter particles look super gorgeous but as you can see in the photos, they are quite subtle.

This lip gloss is pretty comfortable to wear, though it's thick it doesn't make my lips feel too sticky. A good thing is that because it's thick, it stays on the lips for quite a long time. I don't have to keep reapplying every 10 minutes, which is always a plus when you have a hectic life.

I really like the effect it gives to my lips and am thinking of purchasing other shades as well. It's pretty small but I have never ever used up a single lip gloss as I have too many lip products (I'm sure I'm not alone here) so I quite like the fact it's small and easy to carry around in my purse.

NEW on Beaut in Japan! Visee Color Impact Gel Liner -Winter Limited Shades

I am so excited to introduce you to the limited shades of my favourite pencil eyeliner from Visee. As I mentioned in my Autumnal Eyeliners post back in October, I have been obsessed with this eyeliner. I was a liquid-eyeliner type of girl for more than 10 years until I discovered how good this eyeliner was. Last month they brought these beautiful limited shads that I grabbed when I found them at the drugstore because their limited eyeliners are always very popular that they get sold out very quickly. In fact, I saw some people tweeting that the eyeliners and the nail polish that came with them were sold out already, only like 3-4 days after the launch. Insane, isn't it? But it's how good they are.

Warm Brown
This is Warm Brown, which has a red undertone compared to their permanent brown shade BR300, and more like a grown-up brown compared to another permanent brown shade BR301 which is a pinky brown.

It's so creamy and easy to draw the line. It's kind of shimmery but not glittery at all which is suitable for any occasions.

When applied on my eyelids, it shows up kind of subtle but definitely defines my eyes if that makes sense. I can build it up more by applying second and third coat, but I like how subtle it looks with one application and smudged a little bit.

Winter Orchid
This is the shade I was looking forward to getting my hands on when I saw this for the first time in a magazine a few months ago. You know I love taupe shade, and I thought this would go perfectly well with my taupe eyeshadows by no7 and Addiction.

Ohhhh my gosh I can't get over how gorgeous it looks!! It's got this metallic finish that looks super gorgeous. It's more pueply than I expected, but this is one of the most beautiful eyeliner shades ever!

It does go well with eyeshadows in taupe, purple and grey. It adds a bit of colour on the eyelid which is a fun way to wear an eyeliner rather than always reaching out for boring black. I've been obsessed with this shade that I'm wearing it all the time. I kind of regret that I didn't buy two, I don't know what to do when I run out with it!

If you wish to see more details of these beautiful eyeliners, please check out my video!

Majolica Majorca Puff de Cheek / Cherry Mix

Majolica Majorca Puff de Cheek  / Cherry Mix
I had been eying on this beautiful blusher since I saw it in a beauty magazine a couple of months ago. Majolica Majorca always had the blushes in the cute tins with their signature girly design on them called Puff de Cheek, but they were not appealing to me particularly. But this new range called "Puff de Cheek Flower Harmony"got into my wishlist instantly, mainly because of its cute looks. But I found out that it wasn't just the looks that was amazing about this product, the actual blush is brilliant too.

Puff de Cheek Flower Harmony comes in two permanent and one limited shades. Permanent shades are PK302 Strawberry Mix and RD303 Mandarin Mix, and a limited shade is RD401 Cherry Mix. As it's easy to get hold of the permanent shades, I decided to go for the limited one. And also, it looked like the perfect shade for autumn and winter.

The marble pattern is not only pretty but it's designed to give you a beautiful flush that looks like coming from within, simply by applying it with the fully puff that comes along in the cute tin. This shade is supposed to be red, but it looks more like hot pink with a blue undertone to me. It contains a little bit of shimmer but not the big glitter particles that make your face look like a disco ball. It's a "slightly lifts your cheekbones and make you look healthy" kind of shimmer. You know what I mean!

Another good point is the puff. It's very thick and fully, plus it's got a cute ribbon on top! What more can you ask for? I like the fact they pay attentions to small details like this, this is when I feel Japanese brands are amazing.

As you may have noticed, this beautiful gradation of the blush creates a perfect "I'm blushing from within" kind of look. The centre of the blusher is the darkest pink, and it's got a lighter pink around it and more of the highlighter kind of shade at the edge. When you place the puff in the tin and swirl it around a little bit, you will get a perfect amount of the blusher.

And all you need to do is just pat your cheek with the puff a couple of times without re-applying the blusher. You will be amazed by the pigmentation of the blush as well as the perfect "ombre" kind of look on your cheek. Obviously I applied much more in this photo than I would apply it on my cheeks, but you can see what I mean by the "ombre" look. It's actually very beautiful that I always get compliments whenever I wear it. It may sound weird but I feel like it makes you look innocent and pure when you wear it, maybe because it makes your complexion look perfect for some reason just like a baby's!

It's also very long lasting which is another bonus! I hate it when I apply a blusher in the morning and it's completely gone by the the time I get to the office, because then I have to look dead all day. It stays on the cheeks for all day without smudging, which is great but be careful if you are heavy-handed, it would be pain in the butt to remove if you've applied too much.

I just cannot rave enough about this blush. I am no longer wearing my favourite Tarte blush, or Sweets Sweets blush, because I'm completely obsessed with this one. It's already sold out at the drugstores and I got hold of a couple for you guys online. If you want to see more details of the blush, please have a look at my first-ever video on YouTube below!

Beaut in Japan is now open on eBay!

I am very happy that I can finally inform you that my very first eBay shop called "Beaut in Japan" is now open! This is where you can purchase the latest Japanese beauty items reviewed on this blog. Since I started my blog, I have been receiving e-mails from followers constantly asking where they can purchase he products I have talked about, and it always makes me feel bad that I cannot send the products to all of them. I came up with the idea to open an e-commerce shop to help them in the beginning of 2014, but there were so many factors that made it impossible for me to run by myself. But finally, I have setup an eBay account and everything is ready!

I also started making videos for the website, so that you can see more details before purchasing the products. What I am aiming to do is to make a website where you can shop the products as if you are actually shopping in a beauty store in Japan. Don't you have an experience where you purchased something online and it disappointed you when it arrived because it looked completely different from photos? I do, and it sucks. I don't want any of you to have that experience, so I decided to learn how to shoot and edit videos! I hope it helps :)

As I'm just starting up, I won't be stocking loads of merchandise. I want to see if there are people who are interested in it, then take it from there. So I will be updating my eBay shop every 2 weeks in the beginning with a new item. Each item will have a couple of stock which might be sold out pretty quickly, but you can request it to be restocked on Twitter. Yes, I setup a Twitter account for Beaut in Japan as well!

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do enjoy making it! The first item will be up within 24 hours :)
